Premiere at Allgäu Airport! For the first time at an airport, a completely new gastronomy concept was launched in the terminal: The innovative Campus Suite offers passengers and visitors healthy and fresh cuisine.
Corona time was construction time at the airport. During the lockdown, particular investments were made in the gastronomic offer: the centerpiece is the new Campus Suite, which was created in place of the well-known Coffee Fellows Bar in the public area of the terminal. The new concept is based on sustainable and healthy cuisine with regional suppliers. The product range extends from freshly squeezed juices made from untreated fruit and vegetables to coffee and tea specialties to soups, pasta and sandwiches.
The design of the suite is also new. “The monotonous rigor of large fast food chains is alien to us,” emphasizes the managing director and founder of the Campus Suite Frank Stebisch. “Instead, we let our environment inspire us when it comes to interior design and blend in organically with the environment. That’s why no two campus suites are alike.” The concept was developed at the University of Kiel in 2004 with now 34 locations, especially in northern Germany.
New built as well is the snack bar Gate34 outside the airport for a quick snack before and after the flight. The popular beer garden with a view of the apron and the planes is still open during the summer months when the weather is good.
For those who do not want to stay at home, a new Rental Car and Travel Agency Center offers more convenience. It opened its doors in May on parking lot P1 directly opposite the terminal and enables relaxed travel advice and booking. Generously designed counters pave the way for arriving passengers to their pre-booked rental car even faster. The newly created Coffee Fellows Express Bar with comfortable seating takes care of the physical well-being in the Center.
“With all these innovations, we have further improved the comfort at the airport,” emphasizes Non-Aviation Director Andreas Loritz. “After all, the passenger, his companion and all other visitors should feel comfortable with us from the first minute.”
