Since October 2017, the airline Ryanair flies three times a week to the Polish capital Warsaw. Now, Wizz Air includes Katowice in their offer. From 20th of June 2018 the capital of the Polish Silesian Voivodeship will be offered four times a week. Katowice counts about 300,000 inhabitants.

The connection Memmingen – Vilnius / Lithuania will be no longer operated from the beginning of the summer timetable due to low demand.

Memmingen Airport expects additional passenger traffic of around 75,000 a year due to additional flights to Katowice and Sibiu, and despite the loss of the connection to Vilnius.
