50 new jobs

Memmingen Airport needs reinforcements

Take a look and apply, even by unconventional means, on 3 and 4 March

Memmingen Airport is on course for growth – not only in terms of flight destinations and passenger numbers, which are rising sharply. The airport team also needs staff reinforcements and is offering numerous new positions and attractive benefits, as well as a quick and uncomplicated application process for those interested.

“Let’s grow together” is the motto with which the airport’s HR managers are going on the job offensive. “We urgently need reinforcements, and are delighted that we have been able to create 50 new jobs,” explains Airport Managing Director Ralf Schmid. New colleagues are required in many areas of the airport if our ambitious targets are to be achieved – among other things, the number of passengers is to pass the two million mark this year. There is a great need for check-in agents. Employees for baggage and aircraft handling, as well as firefighters, are also in demand. There are also vacancies in administration. The airport opens up interesting apprenticeships for young people, such as air transport service agents or mechatronics technicians for agricultural and construction machinery. There is also the option of a dual study programme in Aviation Management.

Christmas bonus and inflation adjustment

“In addition to a varied and exciting workplace, we are offering our colleagues a whole range of additional benefits that are not considered commonplace,” explains Managing Director, Ralf Schmid. Last November, for example, every full-time employee received a Christmas bonus of EUR 1,500. There was also a tax-free inflation adjustment bonus of EUR 1,500 for full-time employees at the end of the year. In January, a general salary adjustment of 5.5 per cent was made to compensate for inflation. There are also other benefits such as a company pension scheme and supplementary health insurance. Airport employees benefit from a job commuter bike (“Jobrad”), discounts in the travel industry and attractive additional benefits – such as the “Edenred” card.

Memmingen Airport is organising a job taster session on 3 March to offer interested parties a look behind the scenes at the airport and at a potential new professional role. “Just take a look, get to know the workplace and your colleagues without any sense of obligation,” is how Diana Vogt, Head of Human Resources, summarises the offer, which is available on this day from 3.30 pm to 7.30 pm. The airport is also taking a new and unconventional approach to job applications and introductions: anyone who has decided to change jobs can apply the next day, onthe 4th March, from 10 am to 4 pm for the job casting. “Without having to write an application,” says Vogt, “you can simply come for a chat and we’ll see together whether we want to work together in the future.” You can register online for both appointments.
